These award-winning student texts, honorable mentions, and nominations represent what the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies (formerly the University Writing Program) values and celebrates in all student writing: critical thinking; audience and genre awareness; knowledge of writing conventions; and critical reflection.
The Public Events Committee has made no attempt to proofread and edit these texts. Instead the committee has chosen to present student work in the version that they were submitted, fully recognizing and celebrating their linguistic diversity and their occasional departure from standardized language norms.
We celebrate each one of them and want to preserve them in the shape that they were submitted to us.
